Lidstone
Three miles south-east of Chipping Norton, Stone Farm looks out across the Glyme valley onto the hamlet of Lidstone, with the River Glyme nestled at the bottom of the hill. Lidstone is a tiny hamlet within the parish of Enstone, a small village two miles away. Here you can find a local pub, shop, butchers and Post Office for your everyday needs. Whilst there are no amenities in Lidstone, there are many excellent local pubs and restaurants within ten minutes drive of the farm. We highly recommend our local pub, The Crown in Church Enstone, for excellent food and drinks. There is also the well known Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford Organic Farm.
Please note a car is essential during your stay at Stone Farm.
Local Towns
The local towns of Chipping Norton and Charlbury provide all your essentials: supermarkets, banks, post office, leisure centre and garages, as well as coffee shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and independent retailers.
The most visited town in the country - Burford - is just a 15 minute drive away, with its glorious collection of antique shops, cosy pubs, 'country' shops and nic-nac shops, not to mention the renowned Burford Garden Centre!
Over the summer, a variety of music fesitvals occur close to Stone Farm including the Cornbury Festival at Great Tew, the Wilderness Festival at Charlbury and the Big Feastival at Kingham. Staying at Stone Farm provides the best of both worlds, with the peace and tranquility of a cottage to stay in, while being within an easy distance of the festivals.
